Ignoring that drywall is messy to put up, creates hazardous dust, and takes 3-4 times longer to put up as compared to the Basement Tuxedo Finishing System, drywall was never designed to withstand the basement environment. Unlike the Basement Tuxedo Finishing System, drywall does not resist mold, mildew or moisture (in fact, mold likes to grow on it), it easily dents, and seals your access to pipes and wiring, to name just a few. Using drywall in a basement is much like using untreated lumber for an outside porch - it just does't last.
